    How your reading is made

    The real sky
Every position comes from astronomical formulas for the Sun, Moon and planets, the same kind observatories use, accurate to a fraction of a degree.
    Your exact moment
Your birth time and town are converted to world time, including the summer time rules of that year, so your Rising sign is right.
    Plain words
No jargon. Each reading says what a transit means for your love, work and money, and which days are good to act and which are better to wait.

Almaty, August. Äje Raisa and me on our roof.

    My grandmother's sky

I grew up in Almaty, Kazakhstan, under the mountains and a very big sky. My grandmother, my äje Raisa, read the stars, the numbers and the old qumalaq stones. On warm August nights she took me up on the roof and showed me where the planets were.

At seventeen I moved to London. Before I left she gave me a small gold crescent moon. I still wear it every day. Later, her notebooks came to me too.

“The stars don't decide your life. They show you the weather. You still choose the road.”

    Äje Raisa

That's how I write every reading: real planet positions, plain words, and practical days to act or to wait.

The morning ritual she taught me

    Two minutes, before your phone.

    1. Open the window. Greet the sun and thank God, or the Universe, in whatever way you believe, for the new day.
    2. Three thank-yous. Name three things you're grateful for. Small ones count.
    3. Say it as if it's already true. “I am closing this deal.” “Money comes to me through good work.”
    4. Pick one word for the day and carry it with you.

    Questions

Is the free reading really free?

Yes. You pick your sign, enter your email on the download page so the PDF can be sent to you, and it's yours. There's no card and no subscription.

I don't know my birth time. Can I still use it?

Yes. Your Sun sign and, on most days, your Moon sign don't need it. Only your Rising sign does. If the Moon changed sign on your birthday, I'll tell you both options.

Which sign is mine if I was born on the edge of two?

Use the calculator at the top. It works out where the Sun really was at your birth, which settles “cusp” birthdays.

    How accurate are the dates?

Planet positions are accurate to a fraction of a degree. Event times are given in world time, so depending on where you live, one may fall a day earlier or later.

Is astrology a replacement for advice?

No. It's a tool for reflection and good timing. It doesn't replace medical, legal, financial or psychological advice.
